Doug Berky to perform at Vero Beach

Reports say that Gems: The World Wisdom Stories, by Doug Berky is all set to have a grant display at the Art Leonhardt Auditorium of Vero Beach Museum on April 25. A storeyteller, mime and designer of masks and costumes, Berky is doing comedic as well as dramatic interpretation of classic stories stitched together to amuse both adults and children.

The show is being presented by The Gifford Youth Achievement Center. It is understood that the event is the second annual performing arts event for the youth by the youth-promotional body. This organised reportedly intends to not just entertaining the audience but to open up some educational as well as cultural experiences from artistes to the students.

According to the students of GYAC and adults and children of St Dwards School, the performance delivered by Hobey Ford in the previous year as well was an incredible hit.

This years show by Berky will start for the students at around quarter after three in the evening. The show would also offer the students present there with an opportunity to interact with Berky. It is understood that the students had been working with their art teacher Christine Thomas to create masks of their own for displaying at the show.

The one hour long performance of Berky will include classic stories such as The Boy Who Cried Wolf and Lion and the Mouse among others. Accompanying these stories as part of the show would be large scale masks and props for enhancing the delightful as well as whimsical performance.
