The occasion of the World Dance Day falling on April 29 will be highlighted in the capital by an eponymous presentation of Natya Vrisksha. Her performance for the day is understood to be rendering three pieces based on Vaishnavite themes, namely; A Shabdam, Krishna Sthuthi set in Tharangam format and the Ashtapadi.

Beginning with Ramayana Shabdam that explains Rama's tale from his birth to the day of coronation at a fast pace, Sreelakshmy will manipulate the Shabdam to highlight the flavour in Kuchipudi. On the other side, she will dance to the tune of Krishna Sthuthi on a dance plate's rim.

At some juncture of the performance Sreelakshmy is expected to expand on nine different individual's nine emotions as regards to their attitude towards Krishna. The different emotions she would highlight as part of this include Sringaram, Raudram and Karunyam as portrayed by Gopika, Gandhari and Draupadi respectively.

This would also be the occasion for her to have a chat with her admirers and critics at the venue of the event. She is expected to explain to the audience her experiences during the times of her going stray that had boomeranged the talented artiste to where she belonged and also her experiences with Guru Pasumarthy Rattaiah Sarma who helped her concentrate on what was significant for her.

The event that comes curated by Padmashree Geetha Chandranm a classical dancer, will also present some other gems such as Anuradha Kapur's movement workshop, display of art by Dr Sridevi Nair Pal, paintings and sculptures from Rasaja Foundation curated archival collection of Jaya Appasamy and theatre.
