Natalia Frantsuzova, a Russia-based danseuse and teacher who has visited India fourteen times is very much on the shores of Chennai yet again with seven of her expert students to showcase their terpsichorean talents before the audience of the very motherland of Bharathanatyam. Natalia and her disciples performed Bharathanatyam on 25th March at Rani Seethai Hall here. A trained Russian folk dancer, Natalaia has strangely named her dancing troupe after Sartaswathi Devi, the Hindu Goddess of Art and Literature. Indian version of Disney's Alladin awaits April Launch

Disney India is expected to launch an Indian version of their popular stage musical, Aladdin at the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Mumbai in April this year. Disney India is bringing this stage classic from its portfolio of musical theatre plays to India after multiple successful seasons of their 'The Beauty and the Beast' in both 2015 and 2016 in the country. The company has reportedly partnered with BookMyShow online entity as its new stage musical's producer with exclusive rights for its Indian production. It has been reported that a folk music and dance group based in Chattisgarh has treated the fans of Indian folk music in the capital city of Fiji, Suva, with classy Central Indian folk music and songs last week. The artistic treat was thrown by Chatthisgarhi folk music and dance troup, Aarug Group at the Jain Narayan College in the capital. It has been reported that the fourth edition of the Happy Valley Indian Performing Arts Festival of Central Pennsylvania will commence on the evenings of April 6, 7 and 8 2018 highlighted by the performances of renowned Carnatic vocalist Vidwan TV Sankaranarayanan and classical Manipuri dancer Sohini Ray. It has been reported that a couple of dance pundits, Vidushi Akhila Chethan and Vidushi Poornima Gururaj have teamed up with a view to bringing dance and Dasa Sahithya together. Vidushi Chethan and her husband Vidwan Chethan Hebbar had after a detailed study about Dasa Sahithya, which is Bhakthi movement's literature composed in honour of Lord Vishnu by the devotees, merged the two forms under a common title 'Dasa Margam'. Grama Keli 2018, a mega festival of folk arts, organised by the AWASS Thiruvampady in association with Kozhikode Nehru Yuva Kendra will commence at Harrison Theatre in Kozhikode on March 28 2018.
